Some businesses are built from a business plan. Ours was built from a lifelong love of animals and the quiet recognition that our community needed something we could provide.
Long before Winged Prayers Doves existed, our founder was a devoted pigeon fancier - someone who understood, from an early age, that birds are something special. There is a patience and a peace that comes with caring for them, a trust that builds slowly and means everything once it's earned.
In 2020, that passion took a new direction. A small flock of show birds came first - beautiful creatures that deepened an already deep appreciation for the hobby. But it wasn't long before a different calling made itself known. Families in Cumberland and the surrounding area were planning funerals, memorials, and weddings without access to a professional, humane dove release service. The need was real, and the heart to meet it was already there.
So Winged Prayers Doves was born - not as a departure from that lifelong passion, but as its fullest expression.
Today, every dove in our care is raised with the same hands-on attention and genuine affection that started this journey. They are healthy, well-trained, and released only under conditions that ensure their safe return home. Because to us, they are never just props for an event - they are living creatures entrusted to our keeping, and we take that responsibility seriously.
